Hexa-X at the EuCNC & 6G Summit 2023

The Hexa-X project will be represented at the EuCNC & 6G Summit conference in Gothenburg Sweden on June 6-9, 2023 by organizing a workshop and a special session as well as having a big exhibition booth with 6 demos.

The upcoming “6G workshop series” organized by Hexa-X and Hexa-X-II is set to feature several sessions and panel discussions. The four sessions will cover topics such as “6G system vision,” “6G and sustainability,” “6G architecture,” and “connecting intelligence,” while the two panel discussions will delve into “6G sustainability: a long-term challenge” and “AI and 6G: opportunities and challenges.”

The workshop will also include keynote presentations by Ericsson’s Erik Dahlman and Nokia’s Harish Viswanathan, along with invited presentations from other 5G PPP and 6G SNS-JU projects such as SUPERIOT, RISE-6G, REINDEER, B5G OPEN, DETERMINISTIC6G, DESIRE6G, DAEMON, CENTRIC, and AI@Edge.

Other notable speakers at the workshop are Colin Willcock, who will present the European Vision for 6G networks, Hexa-X/Hexa-X-II coordinator Mikko Uusitalo, who will provide an overview of Hexa-X/Hexa-X-II and global alignment, and Hexa-X technical manager Hamed Farhadi, who will give an overview of 6G radio enablers. Additionally, Hexa-X-II technical manager Patrik Rugeland and WP2 lead Sylvaine Kerboeuf will present the draft foundation for 6G system design.

The workshop program includes presentations of Hexa-X results on “6G for sustainability”, “6G E2E architecture, architectural components and enablers”, and “AI-driven communication & computation co-design” by Hexa-X leads Mauro Boldi, Mårten Ericson, Bahare Masood Khorsandi, and Nandana Rajatheva.

Special session is organized together by Hexa-X and 5G PPP Architecture WG especially to highlight the material of a new book on 6G, including contributions from many 5G PPP projects.

At the Hexa-X exhibition booth H02:06, visitors can witness six demos showcasing various aspects of the 6G technology. Three of these demos, namely Joint communication and sensing by Qamcom, Collaborative robots in industrial contexts by WINGS and Nokia, and Data-driven device-edge-cloud continuum management by Atos, Nextworks, University of Pisa, University Carlos III de Madrid, University of Murcia, BCOM, will be presented in a live format. The other three demos, which include 6G waveforms in action by TU-Dresden and University of Oulu, Federated explainable AI by University of Pisa, Intel, TIM, and Flexible topology by WINGS, will be presented as recorded videos. In addition to the demos, Hexa-X and Hexa-X-II posters will also be displayed at the booth.

Finally, Hexa-X also contributes to two other workshops and three special sessions. See you in Gothenburg in June!
