Hexa-X final review completed with flying colours

A milestone towards 6G has been reached! Hexa-X final review was held, and the feedback was very positive – see end of this text for more on that.

Hexa-X provided visibility and impact on 6G in Europe and at global scale through a body of work including; 110 peer reviewed scientific papers, 120 standards contributions, 33 patent applications, 31 technical reports (25 of them publicly available from the Hexa-X website https://hexa-x.eu/), 9 innovations, 2 awards from the EU Innovation Radar program, 6 demos and 15 press releases.

The demo-based booth received best booth award at the EUCNC & 6G Summit 2023.

Based on an initiative in the original plan of Hexa-X a group on “Women in Telecommunications and Research” (WiTaR) was created and transformed as an established working group in 6G IA.

Together with the 5G PPP WG on architecture, Hexa-X published a freely available book on 6G.

Hence, we believe that we well deserve the feedback we received from the final review:

  • Fully achieved objectives and milestones.
  • Exceptional results with significant immediate or potential impact.
  • Leading role in promoting the research and standardization of 6G communications.
  • A “Women in HEXA-X” initiative launched and expanded
  • Grand European flagship for the initial steps towards 6G.
  • With its activity Hexa-X seems contributing to keeping and perhaps even strengthening European industry and research activity being in the lead for 6G development among other global actors.
  • All expected deliverables in schedule and are of very good quality.
  • Excellently managed, providing detailed and timely information of its progress, as well as being responsive to any issues or requirement.

Hexa-X-II continues the work of Hexa-X.
